Delta Airlines - The Road to Recovery

Fresh off the heels of declaring bankruptcy, Delta Airlines CEO Gerald Grinstein released an outline yesterday detailing the company’s ambitious recovery plans. The major points of the plan are designed to

“save Delta in the near term, so that it can compete and win in the long term.”

Major tenets of the plan include:

1. In court restructuring to alleviate debts.
2. Revenue and network productivity improvements.
3. Re-examing employee compensation.

As part of Delta’s revenue and network productivity improvements, Delta plans to reduce their domestic mainline capacity and expand internationally in more profitable lane segments.
