UPS Sticks With Airbus
Good news for Airbus…UPS has decided to honor it’s recent order of 10 Airbus freighters despite Airbus’ recent production woes.
The express and logistics provider said in a statement that it has been assured by Airbus that deliveries will not be delayed.
Airbus shocked the market last week when it said it now expects to deliver fewer passenger versions of the A380 in 2007 and 2008 due to production problems.
Last December, UPS signed a firm contract for 10 A380s freighters for delivery between 2009 and 2012. source – Journal of Commerce.
Meanwhile Hong Kong Airline, Cathay Pacific, has just ordered six Boeing 747-400 extended-range freighters as part of the expansion of its cargo business.

The planes are scheduled for delivery between May 2008 and April 2009.
The freighter order is on top of an outstanding order for five 747-400 freighters and Cathay has retained its option on another six 747-400s scheduled for delivery between late 2008 and 2010. source – Journal of Commerce
