Power map for China

All Roads Lead to China links to another interesting map outlining China’s massive power needs and where it is getting its energy from. The result of becoming the world’s factory has boomed energy demand in China, which currently gets most of its energy from coal burning power plants, and hence created massive air pollution, particularly in the southern areas of China. As their map points out, China’s demand for energy will only increase and that means, in the short term, more coal burning energy plants, although they point out that China is also looking to increase hydro power, wind power, and nuclear plants.
