More good news for Boeing

SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) has ordered 20 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with an option for 20 more. The intention to purchase these aircraft was already announced in June but Boeing and SIA have now finalised the deal.

As Airbus continues to tread water with management changes and costly delays to its A380 megajumbo, Boeing is continuing to rack up orders for its next generation of aircraft.

That’s not to say Boeing should sit back and gloat, though. The same production delays that plague Airbus could plague Boeing as well, if they fail to learn the lessons from Airbus’ mistakes.
