International airfreight continued to show signs of consistent growth with a 4.9 percent increase during the month of September.

Via Air Cargo World:

The growth in the first month of the air cargo industry’s fall peak shipping season put overall global air freight business up 5.2 percent in the first nine months 2005, behind long-term growth projections but ahead of recent relatively stagnant freight years for the airline industry. The September growth was also ahead of the 4.7 percent increase air carriers reported in August.

According to the article much of the growth can be attributed to expansion in Asia and the Middle East. Growth out of North America showed only a 2.5 percent increase.
