Carriers taking advantage of Shenzhen air cargo subsidy

Now CargonewsAsia is reporting that carriers are taking full advantage of the subsidy, with China Eastern the latest beneficiary:
The Shanghai-based China Eastern applied for the subsidy for the B747 freighter it leases from Tradewinds and flies to Europe, and approval was granted, a Shenzhen airport spokesman said today.
“As long as there are freighters, the carrier is entitled to the subsidy,” he said.
Cargonews Asia broke the subsidy story in March, revealing that the Shenzhen government planned to offer all freighter operators either based at Shenzhen or collecting cargo from the Pearl River Delta airport a subsidy for each tonne of cargo carried out.
