U.S. Exports to China booming

Lost in the general China/U.S. trade rhetoric that gets tossed around as generally anti-China, anti-import, and anti-globalization is the fact that U.S. exports to China are absolutely booming:

I have reviewed the report and the following stood out for me:

1. US exports to China went up 240% from 2000 to 2006, as compared with a 33% overall increase. Belgium (?) was next in terms of increased exports at 53%.
2. US exports to China increased from $16.3 billion in 2000 to $55.2 billion in 2006.
3. China is now the United States’ fourth largest export market, just behind Japan. Canada is first, with Mexico second.
4. If Hong Kong is included with China (why isn’t it?), China is actually now the United States’ third largest export market.
5. Every single US state increased its exports to China by at least 100% from 2000 to 2006, with the exception of Florida and Wyoming.
6. China is the largest export market for Idaho, New Mexico, and Washington. It is the second largest market for Oregon and Louisiana.
