Net profits plummet at new Bangkok Airport
In the no-surprise-whatsoever-department, Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi International Airport has seen profits plummet:
High maintenance costs at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport and the reopening of the city’s old Don Muang facility have contributed to an 88 percent drop in quarterly net profit reported by the Airports’ Authority of Thailand (AOT).
More than 100 cracks were found in the runway and taxiways at the new airport that opened last September after several delays, and Don Muang was reopened in March to handle flights disrupted by the repair work.
