The end of Airline Cargo Alliances?

They seem to work for passenger air travel, but personally speaking I never really experienced the so-called benefits of any of the big cargo alliances. I must not be the only one, as this short article at Air Cargo News reports that cargo alliances are under pressure and could be broken up. Why? I think this comment regarding SkyTeam Cargo sums it up best:

Rival airfreight alliance SkyTeam Cargo, headed by Air France-KLM Cargo, Delta Airlines and Korean Air Cargo, is also under pressure, with members continuing to compete rather than cooperate.

Emphasis mine.
