Port workers in France go on strike in Le Havre and Marseille

By SwizStick • Mar 26th, 2008 • Category: QuickNews, Seafreight

Supposedly it’s a 24-hour strike but these things sometimes carry over for a longer period of time, not to mention the time it takes to get back on track after a strike or work slowdown. Le Havre is one of France’s biggest ports and one of the key ports to mainland Europe. Chances are you source goods from or export to Le Havre and even if you don’t there is a very good chance that one or more of the carriers you use transit through Le Havre as one of their port callings. Check with your carriers and logistics providers to see if your shipments were affected.
