In a further sign of the times, it’s not just container volumes falling at ports around the country – air cargo is suffering as well:

Freight and express traffic at San Francisco International Airport dropped 15.1 percent in July compared last year, a new sign of a sharp downturn in air cargo business on the West Coast.

International freight, hit hard by what appears to be an accelerating decline in trans-Pacific air shipping, was off 12.3 percent at the major gateway for Asian imports.
