American Airlines increases weight limit on their priority parcel service (PPS)
I can only assume this is a result of continually weakened domestic cargo demand. It’s a smart move as their PPS service is one of their most expensive (and most likely, profitable) cargo services available. Increasing the weight limit should boost demand for the pricey service and hopefully increase domestic cargo volumes for AA.
AA Cargo raised the limit from 70 pounds to 100 pounds for shipments within the United States and to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Priority parcel service is available through American’s ticket counters, cargo terminals and dedicated PPS facilities. The product requires no advance booking, providing same day next flight out service to professional shippers and couriers.
