Port Klang Port Trucker Protest

I just received word that approximately 1,000 Port Klang drayage truck drivers staged a two hour protest at the port to complain about recent fee hikes and operational delays at the port. I was advised by a contact at a local logistics company that although the protest was only expected to last a couple of hours, there were apparently some altercations between striking drivers and business as usual drivers. According to my contact, haulage operations have ceased for the time being and there is little container movement yesterday and today as a result. You may want to check with your forwarder to see if any of your containers will be impacted as a result.
